Effect of meditative pulmonary rehabilitation training on the exercise tolerance in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of meditative pulmonary rehabilitation training on the exercise tolerance in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods A total of 120 stable COPD patients admitted to the hospital from February 2021 to February 2023 were selected.They were randomly assigned into the control group(n=60,routine training)and study group(n=60,meditative pulmonary rehabilitation training)by the random number table method.Lung function,blood gas analysis indicators,exercise tolerance,respiratory muscle function,trunk control,symptom improvement,and clinical efficacy were observed in the two groups.Results Compared with those before treatment,forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1),FEV1/FVC,partial oxygen pressure(PaO2),oxygen saturation(SaO2),6 minute walk test(6MWT),maximal inspiratory pressure(MIP),maximal expiratory pressure(MEP),and the Trunk Injury Scale(TIS)score were significantly elevated in both groups(P＜0.05).Compared with that before treatment,the partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)significantly decreased in both groups after treatment,which was significantly lower in the study group than the control group(P＜0.05).Compared with those of the control group,shorter time for symptom disappearance and better treatment effect were observed in the study group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Meditation lung rehabilitation training for stable COPD patients can improve lung function,respiratory muscle function,exercise patience,blood gas indicators,and recovery,with good therapeutic effects.
