Effects of auricular acupoint embedding beans combined with Huangbai Liquid sitz bath on pain,and expression levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine and serum substance P after perianal surgery

Abstract：Objective To explore the effects of auricular acupoint embedding beans combined with Huangbai Liquid sitz bath on the pain degree and levels of serum substance P(SP)and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)after perianal surgery.Methods A total of 120 postoperative patients treated with perianal surgery in the hospital from August 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into observation group(n=60,auricular acupoint embedding beans combined with Huangbai Liquid sitz bath)and control group(n = 60,Huangbai Liquid sitz bath)by the random grouping method.The pain assessed by the Numerical Rating Scale(NRS),serum SP,5-HT,wound recovery,anal function,wound granulation tissue growth and complications were observed in the two groups.Results The NRS scores on the 1st,3rd and 7th day postoperatively were significantly lower in observation group than those of control group(P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in the scores of wound exudation and edema between observation group and control group(P>0.05).On the 7th day after surgery,the scores of wound exudation and wound edema in observation group were significantly lower compared with those of control group,and the wound healing time was significantly shorter than that of control group(P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in anal function between groups(P>0.05).The anal resting pressure of patients in observation group on the 7th day after surgery was significantly lower than that of control group,but the maximum systolic pressure was significantly higher(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the growth of wound granulation tissue between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).On the 7th day after surgery,the score of wound granulation tissue growth in observation group was significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in serum factor levels between the two groups(P>0.05).On the 7th day after surgery,SP and 5-HT levels were significantly lower in observation group compared with those of control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the total incidence rate of complications in observation group was significantly lower than that of control group(1.67%vs 11.67%,P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of auricular acupoint embedding beans and Huangbai Liquid sitz bath can relieve the pain after perianal surgery,accelerate the recovery of wound and the growth of wound granulation tissue,improve the anal function,and worthy of clinical promotion.
