The application value of desloratadine combined with endoscopic sinus surgery in treatment of chronic sinusitis
Abstract：Objective To explore the effects of desloratadine combined with endoscopic sinus surgery in treatment of chronic sinusitis. Methods A total of 120 patients with chronic sinusitis who were treated in our hospital were divided into combination treatment group (n=60) and control group ( n=60). The patients in both groups were treated by endoscopic sinus surgery. Then the patients in combination treatment group were treated with desloratadine. Moreover, the clinical effects on the patients in two groups were compared. 120 patients with chronic sinusitis were selected as the research objects in our hospital. According to admission. they were divided into the combined group and the control group. The patients in two groups were treated with endoscopic sinus surgery,and the combined group was treated with desloratadine on the basis of the above. Compared the clinical effects between two groups. Results The total effective rate in combination treatment group (96. 67% ) was significantly higher than that (81. 67%) in control group (P <0. 05). Before treatment,there were no significant differences in VAS scores of clinical symptoms,inflammatory factors and nasal mucociliary clearance between the two groups (P>0. 05). After treatment, the VAS scores of clinical symptoms (stuffy nose, runny nose, smell obstacles, cheek pain, head pain) and the levels of inflammatory factors ( TNF, IL-6, IL-8 and hs-CRP) in combination treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group. Meanwhile, the speed of clearance and clearance rate of mucous cilia in combination treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group,moreover,the time of saccharin clearance was significantly shorter than that in control group (P<0. 05). During treatment, no adverse reactions were observed in control group, and the incidence rate of adverse reactions in combination treatment group was 3. 33% (P>0. 05). Conclusion Desloratadine combined with endoscopic sinus surgery is effective in treatment of chronic sinusitis,which can not only markedly improve clinical symptoms, but also significantly alleviate local inflammatory response, therefor, which is worth using widely in clinical practice.
