Abstract:Objective To investigate the predictive value of shock index (SI) in assessment of fatality rate of patients with unstable angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease. Methods A total of 297 patients with unstable angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were enrolled in the study. According to SI value, these patients were divided into group A with SI<0. 7 (n=149) and group B with SI≥0. 7 (n=148). The in-hospital mortality was observed and compared between two groups . Meanwhile, the basic clinical data, the results of echocardiography, left ventricular ejection fraction (EF), fractional shortening (FS),white blood cell and hemoglobin were also observed and compared between two groups. Results There were no significant differences in baseline indexes between two groups. The EF and FS in group B were significantly lower than those in group A (P<0. 05), and the incidence rate of cardiogenic shock on admission in group B was significantly higher than that in group A (P<0. 05). Moreover the total mortality in group B during hospitalization was also significantly higher than that in group A (P<0. 05). Conclusion The increase of SI value can be regarded as the predictive index in estimating the mortality of patients with unstable angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease.
