The relationship between the internal auditory artery, superior artery, blood lipid level and the treatment as well asprognosis of sudden deafness
Abstract:Objective To investigate thre correlation between the internal auditory artery, superior artery, blood lipid level and the treatment as well as prognosis of sudden deafness. Methods Fifty-nine patients with sudden deafness were enrolled as experiment group,at the same time, 78 healthy volunteers were enrolled as control group. The the serum levels of total cholesterol ( CHO) were detected, moreover, the diameters of internal auditory artery ( IAA) ,anterior inferior cerebellar artery ( AICA) ,basilar artery ( BA) were measured by magnetic resonance imaging. In addition the levels of IAA,AICA,BA and serum levels of CHO at different time points were observed and compared between the two groups. Results The diameters of IAA,AICA,BA in control group were significantly higher than those in experiment group, however, the serum levels of CHO were significantly lower than those in experiment group (P <0. 05). There were significant differences in the diameters of IAA,AICA,BA and serum levels of CHO at different time points in experiment group (P <0. 05). Moreover there were significant differences in the diameters of IAA and BA between the patients with good prognosis and the patients with poor prognosis (P<0. 05). Conclusion The patients with the increase of diameters of IAA,AICA,BA have better prognosis, which can provide objective basis for the treatment and prognosis of patients with sudden deafness.
