Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of transcatheter interventional procedure and thoracotomy thoracotomyon serum SPARC and valve function in treatment of ventricular septal defect(VSD) in children. Methods A total of 136 patients with ventricular septal defect who were admitted and treated in our hospital from May 2014 to May 2016 were randomly divided into control group (n =68) and study group (n =68). The patients in control group were treated by thoracotomy, however, the patients in study group were treated by transcatheter interventional procedure. The effects of two treatment methods on serum markers SPARC and heart valves were observed and compared between two groups. Results There was no significant difference in total success rate between two groups (P >0.05). However there were significant differences in operation time, the time of cardiopulmonary bypass, the total blood transfusion volume, postoperative mechanical ventilation time and postoperative hospital stay between two groups (P<0.05). Moreover there were significant differences in the expression levels of SPARC expression in serum between two groups (P <0.05). No abnormal valve regurgitation and other valve dysfunction were observed in both groups, but the valve damage and functional abnormalities in study grouop were significantly more than those in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion As compared with thoracotomy, transcatheter interventional operation can more effectively improve SPARC of patients with ventricular septal defect, moreover, its effects on valve function are more obvious.
