The changes of serum levels of Hcy,UA and CRP in patients with acute cerebral infarction and their correlation with carotid atherosclerosis
Abstract:Objective To observe the changes of serum levels of homocystine(Hcy),uric acid(UA) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients with acute cerebral infarction, and to explore their correlation with carotid atherosclerosis. Methods One hundred and eight patients with acute cerebral infarction who were treated in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2017 were served as case group, meanwhile, 104 healthy subjects from physical examination center were served as control group. According to the echo characteristics of carotid atherosclerosis plaque, these patients were divided into stable plaque groups (n=67) and unstable plaque group (n=41).And according to carotid atherosclerosis degree, these patients were divided into grade Ⅰgroups (n=35),grade Ⅱ group (n=45) and grade Ⅲ group (n=28).The serum levels of Hcy were detected by cyclophorase assay, and the serum levels of UA and CRP were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results The serum levels of Hcy,UA,CRP in case group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05),and the serum levels of Hcy,UA,CRP and IMT in unstable plaque group were significantly higher than those in stable plaque group (P<0.05).And the serum levels of Hcy,UA,CRP and IMT in grade Ⅲ group were significantly higher than those in grade Ⅰgroup and grade Ⅱ group, moreover, which in grade Ⅱ group were significantly higher than those in grade Ⅰgroup(P<0.05). The Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a linear positive correlation between serum levels of Hcy,UA,CRP and IMT value (r=0.612,0.581,0.612,respectively,P<0.01).Conclusion The serum levels of Hcy,UA and CRP are significantly increased in patients with acute cerebral infarction, moreover, these indexes may jointly participate in the formation and development of carotid atherosclerosis plaques.
