The effects of ulinastatin on plasma levels of PCT and CRP in patients with severe sepsis and its protective effects on heart liver kidney

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effects of ulinastatin on plasma levels of procalcitonin(PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients with severe sepsis and its protective effects on heart liver kidney.Methods One hundred patients with severe sepsis who were treated in our hospital from December 2013 to December 2016 were randomly divided into statins group (n =50) and control group (n =50). The patients in control group were treated by routine blood purification, anti-infection,water and electrolyte balance,fluid infusion,oxygen inhalation and the other symptomatic treatments,however, the patients in statins group,on the basis of control group, were treated by ulinastatin,then the changes of plasma levels of PCT,CRP,cardiac function indexes including lactic acid dehydrogenase(LDH),creatine kinase isoenzyme(CK-MB),liver function indexes including alanine aminotransferase (ALT),aspartic acid transaminase (AST), renal function indexes including serum creatinine (Cr),urea nitrogen (BUN),Marshall Officer dysfunction score(MODS),as well as death rates of patients were statistically analyzed and compared between two groups.Results Afer treatment the plasma levels of PCT,CRP, LDH and CK-MB,ALT,AST,Cr,BUN and death rates of patients in statins group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05). And the MODS scores after treatment were decreased in both groups,moreover,the decrease degree in statins group was more obvious than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The ulinastatin can effectively improve the inflammatory state in patients with severe sepsis,which is benefit to protect the heart liver kidney and to reduce the risk of death of patients.
