Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of plasma radiofrequency on the levels of nasal secretions nitric oxide(NO) and C-reactive protein(CRP) and its clinical efficacy in patients with chronic hypertrophic rhinitis. Methods A total of 112 patients with chronic hypertrophic rhinitis who were admitted and treated in our hospital from January 2015 to January 2016 were enrolled in the study. The patients were divided into two observation group and control group groups according to random number table, with 56 patients in each group. The patients in control group were treated by routine inferior turbinate partial resection, however, the patients in observation group were treated by plasma radiofrequency ablation. The levels of NO and CRP in nasal secretions were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The clinical efficacy, the subjective feeling scores of the rhinobyon symptom before operation and at 1m,3m after operation, the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores and nasal cavity gap were observed and compared between two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). There were no statistically significantly differences in the subjective feeling scores of rhinobyon symptom,VAS scores and the nasal cavity gap of patients before surgery between the two groups (P >0.05). The subjective feeling scores of rhinobyon symptom, VAS scores at 1m,3m after operation were significantly lower than those before operation in both groups(P<0.05),moreover,the nasal cavity gap of patients at 1m,3m after operation was greater than that before operation(P<0.05). The subjective feeling scores of rhinobyon symptom, VAS scores in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P <0.05),and the nasal cavity gap of patients in observation group was significantly greater than that in control group (P <0.05). The lengths of operation and edema in observation group were significantly shorter than those in control group (P<0.05). The amount of intraoperative bleeding, the levels of NO and CRP in nasal secretions and incidebce rate of complications in obsereve group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion The curative effects of the plasma radiofrequency ablation on chronic hypertrophic rhinitis are satisfactory. The plasma radiofrequency ablation can obviously relieve the postoperative reaction degree caused by increase of the levels of NO and CRP levels in nasal secretions, and promote body's recovery, therefor, which is worth using widely in clinical practice.
