Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between blood system impairment and autoantibodies in patients with primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS).Methods A total of 65 patients with pSS who were admitted and treated in our hospital were enrolled in the study,in whom, there were 56 females and 9 males, and patient's age range was 33~78 years, with an average age being (54.31 ± 10.36) years. The duration of the disease was from 1 month to 15 years, with an average duration being (5.34 ± 3.76) years. All the patients were excluded from the other rheumatic diseases, hematological diseases and infectious diseases. The patient's age, sex, course of disease and previous history were recorded. The blood analysis anti SSA antibody, anti SSB antibody, anti nuclear antibody (ANA),rheumatoid factors (RF) were analyzed to explore the correlation between blood system impairment and autoantibodies in patients with primary Sjogren's syndrome. Results Among the 65 patients,53 cases(81.5%) were positive for ANA,16 cases(24.6%) were positive for RF,17 cases(26.3%) were positive for SSA,19 cases (18.5%) were positive for SSB,65 cases(100%) were positive for labial gland biopsy. Moreover 18 cases (27. 7%) were complicated by blood system impairment, including 11 cases (16. 9%) of anemia, 10 cases (15.4%) of leukopenia and 4 cases (6.2%) of thrombocytopenia. According to blood analysis,13 cases (20%) were decreased in single aspects,3 cases (4.6%) were decreased in two aspects and 2 cases (3.1%) were decreased in three aspects. The positive rate of SSA in patients with blood system impairment was 44.4%,which was significantly higher than that in patients without blood system impairment ( P <0.05). However there were no significant differences in the levels of RF,ANA and SSB between the two groups. Conclusion The patients with pSS are commonly complicated by blood system impairment, moreover,SSA may be correlated with blood system impairment at some extent.
