Effects of labetalol and nifedipine in the treatment of severe preeclampsia on blood pressure and perinatal outcome of pregnant women
Abstract:Objective To observe the effects of labetalol and nifedipine in the treatment of severe preeclampsia on blood pressure and perinatal outcome of pregnant women. Methods A total of 147 pregnant women with severe preeclampsia were randomly divided into nifedipine group (n =71) and labetalol group (n =76). The patients were treated with the corresponding drugs. The blood pressure control, maternal and perinatal outcome were observed and compared between two groups. Results The total effective rate in nifedipine group and in labetalol group was 94.37% and 90.79%, respectively, there was no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05),however,the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure at 1h, 24h after treatment were significantly decreased in both groups (P<0.05),but there were no significant differences in blood levels at the same time point between two groups (P>0.05).As compared with those before treatment, the urinary protein was significantly decreased after treatment in both groups, however, the 24h urine volume was significantly increased (P <0.05),but there was no significant difference between two groups (P>0.05).Moreover there were no significant differences in the incidence rates of preoperative complications, preterm birth, cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage as well as neonatal asphyxia and low body mass between two groups (P >0.05). Conclusion Both nifedipine and labetalol in treatment of severe preeclampsia can improve safely and effectively the maternal-infant outcomes to protect the maternal-infant safe.
