Abstract:Objective To investigate and compare the clinical curative effects and safety of azithromycin and erythromycin in treatment of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children. Methods A total of 120 children patients with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia who were admitted and treated in our hospital from September 2015 to July 2007 were randomly divided into observation group and the control group, with 70 patients in each group. The patients in control group were treated by oral erythromycin, however, the patients in observation group were treated by oral azithromycin. Then the clinical curative effects, treatment response, adverse reactions and satisfaction degree were observed and compared between two groups. Results The total effective rate in observation group was 96.7%,which was was 83.3% in control group, there was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). The pyretolysis time, cough disappearance time, pulmonary rales extinction time and length of staying in hospital in observation group were(3.3 ± 1.1)days,(4.3 ± 1.5)days,(3.4 ± 1.2) days,(7.0 ± 1.9)days,respectively, which were superior to those in control group[(5.5 ± 1.5) days,(8.0 ± 1.3) days, (6.1 ± 1.6) days,(9.1 ± 1.7) days], there were significant differences between two groups (P<0.05). The incidence rates of adverse reactions including liver function injury, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, phlebitis and pain in puncture site in observation group were superior to those in control group (P<0.05). Moreover the satisfaction degree in observation group was signigicantly higher than that in control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The total effective rate, disappearing time of clinical symptoms and signs and average hospitalization days of azithromycin in treatment of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia are superior to those by erythromycin, with higher safety, moreover, the incidence rate of adverse reactions is also obviously lower than that by erythromycin.
