Effects of different doses of atorvastatin on cardiac diastolic function and blood lipid metabolism of patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effects of different doses of atorvastatin on cardiac diastolic function and blood lipid metabolism of patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy.Methods Sixty-eight patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy who were treated in our hospital from May 2013 to December 2015 were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,with 34 patients in each group. The patients in experimental group were treated by oral double doses of atorvastatin, however,the patients in control group were treated by oral routine dose of atorvastatin.After treatment the cardiac diastolic function,blood lipid metabolism, cardiac function classification and adverse reactions were observed and compared between two groups.Results After treatment the left ventricular diastolic function indexes including LAD,LVD,LVPW and LVMI in experimental group were significantly lower than those in control group,however, EF and E/A were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05). The levels of TC,TG and LDL-C in experimental group were significantly lower than those in control group,however,the levels of LDL-C were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05 ). Moreover after treatment the patients with NYHAⅡand NYHAⅢin experimental group were significantly less than the patients before treatment (P<0.05). In addition adverse reactions were found in both groups,there were no significant differences between the two groups (P >0. 05). Conclusion The double doses of atorvastatin in treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy can effectively improve the cardiac diastolic function and blood lipid levels of patients,with safety and effectiveness,therefor,which is worth using widely in clinical practice.
