Therapeutic effects of Xingnaojing injection on senile severe cerebral infarction and its effects on serum levels of VEGF and IL-8
Abstract：Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of Xingnaojing injection on senile severe cerebral infarctionand and its effects on serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and interleukin-8 (IL-8).Methods Eighty-six patients with senile severe cerebral infarction who were admitted and treated in our hospital from May 2016 to June 2017 were randomly divided into Xingnaojing treatment group (n =43) and control group (n =43).The patients in control group were treated by conventional therapy,however,the patients in Xingnaojing treatment group,on the basis of control group,were treated by Xingnaojing injection (20ml/250m1 saline,once a day),with a treatment course of 14d for both groups.The clinical neurological deficit scale (CNDS),the changes of serum levels of VEGF and IL-8 before and after treatment were observed and cpompared between two groups.Results The CNDSs were significantly decreased after treatment in both groups,moreover,which in Xingnaojing treatment group were superior to those in control group (P ＜ 0.05).The total effective rate in Xingnaojing treatment group and control group was 67.4％ and 44.2％,respectively,there was significant difference between two groups (P ＜ 0.05).After 14-day treatment,the serum levels of VEGF were increased in both groups,moreover,which in Xingnaojing treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group (P ＜ 0.05),however,the serum levels of IL-8 were decreased in both groups,moreover,which in Xingnaojing treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Xingnaojing injection has better therapeutic effects on senile severe cerebral infarction,which can significantly improve the serum levels of VEGF and IL-8 so as to promote the recovery of neuron function and consciousness disorders,therefor,which is worth using widely in clinical practice.
