Therapeutic effects of double-stent-assisted coil embolization on intracranial large aneurysms
Abstract:Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects and safety of double-stent-assisted coil embolization on intracranial large aneurysms. Methods Twenty-two patients with large aneurysm were enrolled in the study,12 patients of them were treated by double LVIS stents embolization (group A),however, the other 10 patients were treated by enterprise stent-assisted coil embolization (group B).The degree of dense embolization of aneurysm, intraoperative aneurysm rupture rate, stent thrombosis rate, aneurysm recurrence rate, narrow status of tumor artery were statistically analyzed and compared between two groups. Results In group A the dense embolization rate was 93.3% (10/12),intraoperative aneurysm rupture rate was 8.3% (1/12),patency rate of tumor artery was 100% and intraoperative stent thrombosis rate was 10% (1/10),however,in group B dense embolization rate was was 90% (9/10),patency rate of tumor artery was 100%,intraoperative aneurysm rupture rate was 10% (1/10),intraoperative stent thrombosis rate was 10% (1/10).After 0.5 ~5 years follow up,no relapse of aneurysms was found in both groups, also no narrow of tumor artery was found. Moreover the excellent and good rate of prognosis in the two groups was 91.67% and 90%,respectively,there was no significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05).Conclsion The double-stent-assisted coil embolization can improve the dense embolization rate in treatment of intracranial large aneurysms, and can reduce the relapse rate, with safety and effectiveness.
