Effects of probiotics combined with touching on curative effects, serum bilirubin, growth and development of premature infants with feeding intolerance

Abstract：Objective To observe the effects of probiotics combined with touching on curative effects,serum bilirubin,growth and development of premature infants with feeding intolerance.Methods Seventy-six premature infants with feeding intolerance were randomly divided into two groups.The 30 patients in control group were treated by low dose erythromycin,however,the 46 patients in intervention group were treated by probiotics combined with touching.The disappearance time of symptoms,everyday amount of milk intake,the increase amount of milk intake,the time up to complete intestinal nutrition,the start time of weight gain,the time of birth weight recovery,the length of staying in hospital,incidence of complications were observed and compared between two groups.Moreover the serum levels of bilirubin,prealbumin and hemoglobin were detected before and after treatment in both groups.Results The symptoms of abdominal distension,vomiting,and gastric retention in intervention group were disappeared more early,moreover,everyday amount of milk intake and the increase amount of milk intake were more than those in control group.The time up to complete intestinal nutrition,the start time of weight gain and the time of birth weight recovery in intervention group were earlier,however,the length of staying in hospital was shorter,moreover,the incidence rates of constipation,hypoglycemia,pathologic jaundice and NEC were significantly lower than those in control group (P ＜ 0.05).The abdominal circumference and body weight in full month were significantly increased in intervention group (P ＜ 0.05).After treatment,the serum levels of bilirubin and indirect bilirubin were decreased,the levels of prealbumin and hemoglobin were obviously increased in both groups,moreover,there were significant differences between two groups (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The birid triple viable combined with touching therapy can speed up gastric emptying,promote gastrointestinal function development and maturity,establish early gastrointestinal nutrition,improve feeding intolerance,lower serum levels of bilirubin,so as to promote the growth and development of preterm infants.
