Abstract:Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of less invasive stabilization system (LISS) plate internal fixation on old distal femur type C fracture. Methods The clinical data about 18 patients with old distal femur type C fracture (the time from external injury to operation being 1 ~ 2 months) were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were treated with open reduction and fixation by LISS plate internal fixation from January 2009 to February 2014.During surgery the fractures with obvious crispation displacement were treated by assistant fracture reduction with retractor, and the fractures with obvious bone defect were treated by autogenous iliac bone implantation, and the fractures that were unstable by simple lateral LISS plate fixation were treaed by adding a plate fixation in internal side, with early functional exercise after operation. The knee joint function was evaluated by Kolment scoring system. Results The bony union was obtained in all the patients without any complications of nerve and vascular injury.Accoring to Kolment scoring system, the excellent and good rate of knee joint function was 94.4%.Conclusion The less invasive stabilization system plate internal fixation can get satisfactory therapeutic effects on old distal femur type C fracture.
