MR imaging features of thyroid microcarcinoma
Abstract:Objective To explore the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of thyroid microcarcinoma (TMC) in order to improve imaging diagnostic level for TMC.Methods A total of 82 patients with TMC that was confirmed by surgical pathology were enrolled in the study, with the MRI conventional sequence image data of 116 cancer foci, were emrolled in the study. The number, site, size, boundary, signal uniformity degree and reinforcement mode of every cancer focus were analyzed according to imaging results, moreover, the apparent dispersion coefficient (ADC) value of different pathological types of TMC was compared. Results The lesions of the TMC were single, the shape was unstructured, and boundary was not clear, signal was not uniform, with incomplete envelope or without envelope. Moreover the lesions were uniformly strengthened after enhancement scanning. There were significant differences in the ADC values of TMC among different pathological types of thyroid carcinoma (P < 0.05).Conclusion MRI conventional sequence image characteristics and the ADC values of different pathological types of TMC have certain diagnostic value, moreover MRI technique is helpful for the detection of TMC.
