Therapeutic effects of Baoxin'an capsule combined with trimetazidine tablets on type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated by chronic heart failure

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Baoxin'an capsule combined with trimetazidine tablets on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated by chronic heart failure (CHF) and their effects on heart function,fasting blood glucose,pro-brain natriuretic peptide (pro-BNP) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (Hs-CRP).Methods Eighty-two patients with T2DM complicated by CHF were randomly divided into control group (n =40) and observation group (n =40).The patients in control group were treated by conventional western medicines plus trimetazidine tablets,however,the patients in observation group,on the basis of control group,were treated by Baoxing'an capsule,with a treatment curse of 6 months for both groups.The cardiac function indexes including cardiac output (CO),stroke volume (SV),left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),ratio of E/A before and after treatment were observed and compared between two groups.Moreover the levels of fasting blood glucose (FPG),serum pro-BNP,hs-CRP were detected,in addition,the cardiac function was examined by ultrasound cardiography.Results After treatment the levels of FPG,pro-BNP and Hs-CRP were decreased in both groups,as compared with those before treatment,moreover the improvement degree of cardiac function and decrease degree of FPG,pro-BNP and hs-CRP in observation group were superior to those in control group (P ＜0.01).After treatment,the ratio of E/A,LVEF,CO and SV were significantly increased in both groups,as compared with those before tratment,moreover,the increase degree in observation group was more obvious than that in control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Baoxin'an capsule combined with trimetazidine tablets can inhibit the non-specific inflammatory reaction of patients with T2DM complicated by CHF,which can effectively control blood glucose,improve heart function so as to enhance clinical curative effects.
