Therapeutic effects of aspirin combined with atorvastatin on cerebral infarction
Abstract:Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of aspirin combined with atorvastatin on cerebral infarction. Methods One hundred and two patients with cerebral infarction who were treated in department of neurology of our hospital were randomly divided into control group (n =51) and observation group (n =51).The patients in control group were treated by aspirin 100mg/d,however,the patients in observation group were treated by atorvastatin 100mg/d,with 1-year follow up.After treatment the blood lipid levels, the changes of carotid atherosclerosis plaques, relapse rate of cerebral infarction and incidence rate of adverse reactions were observed and compared betweeen two groups. Results After 1-year treatment, the blood lipid levels, the total numbers of carotid atherosclerosis plaques and proportion of unstable plaques in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P < 0.05).The relapse rate of cerebral infarction in observation group was 11.76%,which was 27.45% in control group, there was a significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusion The aspirin combined with atorvastatin in treatment of cerebral infarction can significantly decrease blood lipid levels, stabilize carotid atherosclerosis plaques, reduce the relapse rate of cerebral infarction, with safety and effectiveness.
