Expression of CD105, cyclooxygenase and vascular endothelial growth factor in colorectal cancer and its relationship with angiogenesis
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expressions of CD105,cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in colorectal cancer, and to analyze the correlation between their expressions and angiogenesis of tumor in order to provide basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods Eighty-nine patients with colorectal cancer who were admitted and treated in our hospital from April 2016 to May 2017 were enrolled in the study. The expression levels of CD105 of microvessel density (MVD) were detected by immunohistochemistry (SP),and the expression levels of COX-2 and VEGF in cancer tissues and tumor adjacent tissues were observed, moreover, the correlation among VEGF,COX-2 and MVD was analyzed by using Spearman correlation analysis. Results The expression value of CD105 MVD in cancer tissues was (38.41 ± 7.08),and the positive rates of COX-2 and VEGF in cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in tumor adjacent tissues (P < 0.05).The MVD value in cancer tissues expressing positively COX-2 and VEGF was significantly higher than that of cancer tissues expressing negatively COX-2 and VEGF (P < 0.05).The Spearman correlation analysis showed that MVD was positively correlated with COX-2 and VEGF (P < 0.05),moreover,COX-2 was positively correlated to VEGF (P <0.05).Conclusion The CD105 is a specific marker of angiogenesis of colorectal cancer,moreover,COX-2 and VEGF are closely correlated with neoangiogenisis of tumor.
