The application value of Shenkang injection in elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical value of Shenkang injection in treatment of diabetic nephropathy ( DN) in elderly patients. Methods Forty elderly patients with DN who were admitted and treated in our hospital from June 2014 to May 2016 were randomly divided into study group and control group, with 20 patients in each group. All the patients were treated by low salt, low fat, high quality protein diets, according to individual conditions of patients, they were given symptomatic treatment,such as decreasing blood sugar, blood lipid, blood pressure, etc. The patients in study group, on the basis of control group, were treated by Shenkang injection for 14 days, then the changes of renal function, blood viscosity, popliteal artery,liver function before and after treatment were observed and compared between two groups. Results Before treatment,there were no significant differences in serum creatinine,urea nitrogen,urinary protein excretion rate,24-hour urine protein,blood vessel internal diameter of the popliteal artery, intima-media thickness, popliteal artery peak velocity and resistance index,fasting blood glucose,total cholesterol,three triglyceride,high density lipoprotein,low density lipoprotein, aspartate aspartate aminotransferase,leukocyte count,alanine aminotransferase between two groups (P > 0. 05). After treatment the serum creatinine,urea nitrogen,24-hour urine protein,fasting blood glucose,total cholesterol,three triglyceride, high density lipoprotein,low density lipoprotein, resistance index of popliteal artery in study group were significantly lower than those in control group,however, the urinary protein excretion rate and peak velocity of popliteal artery in study group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0. 05). The serum creatinine,urinary protein excretion,urea nitrogen, 24-hour urinary protein, fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, three triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein,blood viscosity had decrease trend in both groups, moreover, the decrease degree in study group was more obvious than that in control group. Besides there was no significant difference in liver function before and after treatment between two groups (P>0. 05). Conclusion The comprehensive treatment of diabetic nephropathy by Shenkang Injection can effectively improve the blood glucose,blood lipid and renal function in elderly patients with diabetic nephropathy,with better safety.
