Correlation between serum uric acid as well as ferritin levels and prognosis of patients with cerebral hemorrhage

Abstract：Objective To investigate the the correlation between serum uric acid as well as ferritin levels and prognosis of patients with cerebral hemorrhage.Methods Sixty patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage who were admitted and treated in our hospital from April 2013 to April 2016 were enrolled as experimental group,and the other 60 healthy subjects were enrolled as control group.The levels of serum uric acid were detected on 3,7,14 days after admission in experimental group,which were also detected in control group.Results There were significant differences in blood glucose, white blood cells,NIHSS1,NIHSS2,patient's age, 24h hemorrhage volume and diastolic pressure between patients with better prognosis and patients with poor prognosis (P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the levels of serum uric acid on admission day and on 3,7,14 days after admission in experimental group (P>0.05),and there were no significant differences in the serum levels of uric acid between better prognosis group and poor prognosis group (P>0.05).However there were significant differences in the serum levels of ferritin in different time points between better prognosis group and poor prognosis group (P<0.05).The serum levels of ferritin on 3,7,14 days after admission in experimental group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05).The multiple linear regression analysis showed that serum ferritin and NIHSS1 were independent risk factors influencing patient's prognosis,moreover there was a correlation between the two risk factors,and the levels of serum ferritin were positively correlated to those of NIHSS1 on 3 days after admission.Conclusion The levels of serum ferritin are an independent risk factor influencing the prognosis of patients with cerebral hemorrhage.
