Expression of p16 gene methylation and p53 antibody in serum of patients with non-small cell lung cancer
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of P16 gene methylation and P53 antibody in serum of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods Ninety-eight patients with NSCLC were selected as experimental group and 60 healthy subjects were served as control group. The expression levels of P16 gene methylation and P53 antibody were detected by methylation-specific PCR (MSP) and ELISA,respectively. Results There were significant differences in P16 gene methylation and p53 antibody expression between experimental group and control group (P<0.01).The expression levels of P16 gene methylation and P53 andibody in patients with smoking history were significantly higher than those of patients without smoking history (P<0.01).The risk of P16 methylation in patients with squamous cell carcinoma was 2.724 (1.087~6.826) times as high as that of patients with adenocarcinoma or other cancers (P<0.01).The P16 methylation was correlated to the expression of P53 antibody in NSCLC.Conclusion The P16 methylation and P53 antibody expression are closely correlated to the occurrence of NSCLC, moreover, smoking has a synergistic effect with them. The P16 methylation is related with expression of P53 antibody in NSCLC.
