Influence of Danshen injection adjunctive treatment on the therapeutic effects and SOD levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction

Abstract：Objective To investigate the influence of Danshen injection adjunctive treatment on the therapeutic effects and superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI).Methods One hundred and thirty-two patients with ACI who were admitted and treated in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2015 were divided into observation group (n=66) and control group (n=66) according to random number table.The patients in control group were treated by alteplase,the patients in observation group,on the basis of control group,were treated by Danshen injection.The neurological function defect degree,cerebral infarction volume,neuron-specific enolase (NSE),plasma endothelin (ET),SOD before and after treatment were observed and compared between two groups.Moreover the improvement status of patient's life quality and therapeutic effects after 3-week treatment were observed and compared between two groups.Results After treatment,the NIHSS scores (7.52 ±4.05) points and infarction volume (11.56±4.77)cm3 in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group,and the clinical curative effect (84.85%) in observation group was significantly higher than that (63.64%) in control group.The SOD activity (101.34±12.74)nU/ml in observation group was significantly higher than that (93.58±10.87)nU/ml in control group,however ET content (56.99±7.87)pg/ml and NSE concentration (20.42±5.45)ng/ml were significantly lower than those in control group,moreover the improvement degree of patient's life quality in observation group was superior to that in control group (P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in blood coagulation function before and after treatment between two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion The alteplase combined with Danshen injection can significantly improve nerve function impairment in patients with cerebral infarction,and can reduce cerebral infarction volume,improve SOD,ET,NSE indexes,thus,which is worth using widely in clinical practice.
