Comparative study on the therapeutic effects of travatan ophthalmic solution and betagan ophthalmic solutionon on primary open-angle glaucoma and their influences on haemorheology

Abstract：Objective To observe the theapeutic effects of travatan ophthalmic solution and betagan ophthalmic solutionon on primary open-angle glaucoma, and to explore their influences on haemorheology.Methods Eighty patients with primary open angle glaucoma who were treated in our hospital from February 2015 to May 2016 were randomly divided into travatan group ( n =40) and betagan group ( n =40).The patients in the two groups were treated by travatan ophthalmic solution and betagan ophthalmic solutionon, respectively.The changes of haemorheology, visual acuity, intraocular pressure and clinical curative effects were observed and compared between two groups.Results After treatment,the whole blood high shear viscosity,low shear viscosity,plasma viscosity in travatan group were significantly lower than those in betagan group (P<0.05), moreover, the visual acuity of patients in travatan group was superior to that in betagan group ( P <0.05).On 4w,12w after treatment,the intraocular pressure in travatan group was significantly lower than that in betagan group ( P <0.05).Moreover the total effective rate in travatan group was significantly higher than that in betagan group (95.0% vs 75.0%, P <0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effects of travatan ophthalmic solution are superior to those of betagan ophthalmic solutionon on primary open-angle glaucoma,the former can improve haemorheology of patients,reduce intraocular pressure and improve visual acuity of patients,thereby,which is worth using widely in clinical practice.
