Effects of high-dose atorvastatin on serum lipids and serum levels of hs-CRP in patients with acute cerebral infarction

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effects of high-dose atorvastatin on blood lipids and serum levels of hs-CRP in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods Ninety patients with acute cerebral infarction who were admitted and treated in our hospital from March 2015 to March 2016 were divided into control group (n =45) and observation group (n =45) according to random number table.The patients in control group were treated by rosuvastatin (10mg/d),however,the patients in observation group were treated by rosuvastatin (20mg/d).The clinical symptoms were observed for both groups.The carotid artery IMT,blood lipids levels including TC,TG,HDL-C and LDL-C,the changes of serum levels of hs-CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α before and after treatment were observed and compared between two groups.Results After treatment,the area of plaque and carotid artery IMT were significantly decreased,as compared with those before treatment in both groups (P ＜ 0.05),moreover,which in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P ＜0.05).After treatment the serum levels of TC,TG,LDL-C were significantly decreased,but HDL-C levels were increased relatively,as compared with those before treatment in both groups (P ＜ 0.05),moreover,the improvement status of blood lipids levels in observation group was superior to that in control group (P ＜ 0.05).After treatment,the serum levels of hs-CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α were significantlydecreased in both groups,moreover,the serum levels of hs-CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The high-dose rosuvastatin can more effectively stabilize carotid atherosclerotic plaques,and can reduce the serum levels of blood lipids and hs-CRP in patients with acute cerebral infarction,and can resist inflammatory reaction more effectively.
