Therapeutic effects of Huangqi injection combined with corticosteroids on bronchial asthma at acute attack period and its effects on inflammatory factors

Abstract：Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of Huangqi injection combined with corticosteroids on bronchial asthma at acute attack period, and to explore its effects on inflammatory factors .Methods Nnety-five patients with bronchial asthma at acute attack period who were admitted and treated in our hospital from January 2014 to June 2015 were randomly divided into observation group ( n =48) and control group ( n =47).The patients in control group were treated by budesonide aerosol,however,the patients in observation group ,on the basis of control group,were treated by Huangqi injection, with a treatment course of 14 days for both groups.The therapeutic effects,FEV1 before and after treatment,inflammatory factors including IL-18, hs-CRP, MMP-9, VEGF, the changes of main symptom scores and adverse drug reactions were observed and compared between two groups .Results The total effective rate in observation group was 95.83%,which was significant higher than that (76.60%) in control group ( P <0.05).The levels of FEV1 were obviously increased after treatment in both groups,as compared with those before treatment ( P <0.05),moreover,which in observation group after treatment were significantly higher than those in control group ( P <0.05).However the serum levels of IL-18,hs-CRP, MMP-9, VEGF were obviously decreased after treatment in both groups ( P <0.05), moreover, which in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group ( P <0.05).The clinical symptoms including cough,wheezing, wheezing sound scores after treatment were significantly decreased in both groups ( P <0.05),moreover, which in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group ( P <0.05).However, there were no significant differences in the incidence rates of adverse drug reactions between two groups ( P >0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effects of Huangqi injection combined with glucocorticoids on bronchial asthma at acute attack period are quite obvious ,and the action mechanism may be correlated to the decrease of serum levels of IL -18,hs-CRP,MMP-9,VEGF,besides,which can improve patient ' s symptoms and signs,with good safety.
