The clinical value of changes of levels of NSE,CEA CYFRA21-1 in postoperative prognosis evaluation in elderly patients with non small cell lung cancer
Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical value of changes of levels of neuron -specific enolase (NSE), carcino embryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin (CYFRA21-1) in postoperative prognosis evaluation in elderly patients with non small cell lung cancer .Methods Seventy -three elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer who were admitted and treated in our hospital from January 2013 to June 2015 were selected as case group,and the other 60 patients with benign lung diseases who were admitted and treated in the same period were selected as benign disease group ,moreover 60 healthy subjects were served as control group.The serum levels of CEA,NSE and CYFRA21-1 were detected and compared among the three groups.Besides the serum levels of CEA ,NSE and CYFRA21-1 before and after surgery,in the different clinical efficacy,in the patients with or without recurrence and metastasis were observed and compared in case group .Results The levels of CEA,NSE and CYFRA21-1 in case group were significantly higher than those in benign disease group and control group ( P <0.05).On 4 weeks after operation, the levels of CEA, NSE and CYFRA21-1 were significantly lower than those before operation in case group ( P <0.05).The serum levels of CEA,NSE and CYFRA21-1 in excellently effective group were significantly higher than those in effective group and inefficiency group ( P <0.05), moreover, which in in effective group were significantly higher than those in inefficiency group ( P <0.05).Moreover the serum levels of CEA ,NSE and CYFRA21-1 in patients with recurrence and metastasis were significantly higher than those of patients without recurrence and metastasis (P <0.05).Conclusion The serum levels of CEA,NSE and CYFRA21-1in elderly patients with non small cell lung cancer are increased, however,which are decreased after surgery,moreover,which are closely correlated to the therapeutic effects , recurrence and metastasis of patients,therefor ,which are of important clinical value in evaluating surgical effectiveness and prognosis of patients.
