Effects of enhanced recovery after surgery scheme on systemic stress responses in patients with gastric cancer after operation
Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficiency of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) scheme in patients with gastric cancer in peroperative period .Methods Fifty-three patients with gastric cancer who were admitted and treated in department of general surgery of our hospital from June 2015 to June 2016 were randomly divided into two groups . The 27 patients in trial group were treated by ERAS scheme in peroperative period ,however, the other 26 patients in control group were treated by conventional treatment scheme .The first oral eating time and exhaust time ,the length of staying in hospital after operation, the incidence rate of postoperative complications were observed and compared between two groups . Moreover the levels of WBC,CRP,IL-6,SAA before surgery and on 1 day,3 days,5 days after operation were detected and compared between two groups .Results The first oral eating time and exhaust time, the length of staying in hospital after operation in trial group were superior to those in control group ( P <0.05).Before surgery there were no significant differences in the levels of WBC,CRP,IL-6,SAA between two groups ( P >0.05), however, the levels of WBC,CRP,IL-6, SAA on 1 day,3 days,5 days after operation in trial group were significantly lower than those in control group ( P <0.05). Moreover there were no significant differences in the incidence rates of postoperative complications between two groups ( P >0.05).Conclusion The ERAS scheme can decrease postoperative stress response of patients with gastric cancer , accelerate patients' postoperative rehabilitation, shorten the length of staying in hospital after operation ,without increasing postoperative complications, therefore, which is effective and safe, and is worth using widely in clinical practice .
