Significance of the changes of positive rate of AFP-L3% >10% in different age groups of patients with chronic hepatitis B
Abstract:Objective To observe the changes of the positive rate of serum alpha fetoprotein ( AFP-L3)%>10%in different age groups of patients with chronic hepatitis B , and to explore its significance .Methods One hundred and seventy-four patients with chronic hepatitis B who were treated in our hospital from January 2015 to May 2016 were enrolled in the study. These patients were divided into four age groups: <40 years group,40 to 50 years group,51~60 years group,>60 years group .The detection rate of AFP-L3 and positive rate of AFP-L3%>10%were observed and compared among the four groups. Results Among 174 patients with chronic hepatitis B , the positive rate of AFP-L3 accounted for 48.9%, and negative rate of AFP-L3 accounted for 51 .1%.The proportion of AFP-L3%>10% in <40 years group and 40 to 50 years group was significantly higher than the other two groups ( P <0.05).The detection rate of AFP-L3%>10%in male patients in 51~60 years group was 29.4%, which was significantly higher than that in the other three groups , moreover, the total detection rate of AFP-L3 was also significantly higher than that in the other three groups ( P <0 .05 ) .The detection rate of AFP-L3%>10%in female patients in 51~60 years group was 40.0%,there was no significant difference ,as comapred with that in <40 years group ( P >0.05), however, there was significant difference ,as comapred with the other groups ( P <0.05), moreover, which was significantly higher than total detection rate of AFP-L3%>10% ( P <0.05).Conclusion Much attention should be paid to the monitoring of patients with chronic hepatitis B in 50~60 years group, moreover, to the early intervention and dynamic monitoring of patients in 40~50 years group , for early diagnosis ,early treatment and survival time as long as possible .
