Correlation between the manifestations of urinary sediment and renal pathological changes in patients with IgA nephropathy

Abstract：Objective To investigate the correlation between the manifestations of urinary sediment and renal pathological changes in patients with IgA nephropathy. Methods Two hundred and eighty -two patients with IgA nephropathy who were admitted and treated in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2015 were enrolled in the study. The urinary sediment spectrum, pathological changes and damage types were observed.According to urinary sediment spectrum,these patients were divided into hematuria type, active type and progressive type, the correlation between the three kinds of types and renal pathological change types was analyzed.Moreover according to the renal pathological activity, these patients were redivided into active pathological change group and inactivity pathological change group,then the manifestations of urinary sediment were compared between two groups.Finally Logistic regression analysis was used to confirm whether the changes of urinary sediment were influencing factors of renal pathological activity or not.Results The three kinds of urinary sediment types were closely correlated to renal pathological change types (χ2 =183.143, P <0.05).The active type and progressive type in active pathological change group were much more than those in inactivity pathological change group, however, hematuria type was quite less than that in inactivity pathological change group ( P <0.05).The changes of urinary sediment spectrum were independent risk factors influencing the activity of IgA nephropathy ( P <0.05).Conclusion The manifestations of urinary sediment are correlated to renal pathological changes in patients with IgA nephropathy at some extent, thus, which should be paid much attention to.
