Abstract:Objective To observe the expressions of N-cadherin, E-cadherin and p63 protein in cervical spuamous cell carcinoma, and to explore the correlation between their expressions and clinicopathological factors. Methods The expression levels of N-cadherin,E-cadherin and p63 were detected by immunohistochemisty in 15 normal cervical tissues, 30 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia ( CIN) and 50 cases of cervical spuamous cell carcinoma. Results The positive expression rates of N-cadherin in normal cervical tissues, CIN and cervical spuamous cell carcinoma were gradually increased in order, there were significant differences among them ( P <0. 05). However the positive expression rates of E-cadherin and p63 in normal cervical tissues, CIN and cervical spuamous cell carcinoma were gradually decreased in order, there were significant differences among them ( P <0. 05). The expression levels of N-cadherin were closely correlated to staging of tumor, pathological fractionation and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion The high - expression of N-cadherinh and low-expression of E-cadherin, p63 may play an important role in the pathogenesis, development, invasion and metastasis of cervical cancer, thus, the regulation of these factors may become an new target for cervical cancer therapy.
