Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between the levels of exhaled nitric oxide ( FeNO ) and inflammatory phenotype in patients with asthma .Met hods One hundred patients with bronchial asthma ( asthma group ) who were admitted and treated in Department of Respiratory Medicine of our hospital and 80 healthy subjects ( control group ) were enrolled in the study .The levels of FeNO and serum inflammatory factors were detected and compared between two groups . Results The levels of ECP , IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-13,TNF-α, FeNO in asthma group were significantly higher than those in control group ( P <0.05).However the levels of IL-2, IFN-γin asthma group were significantly lower than those in control group ( P<0.05).The levels of ECP, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-13,TNF-α,FeNO in patients with bronchial asthma at acute onset period were significantly higher than those of patients at remission period ( P <0.05).But the levels of IL-2,IFN-γin patients with bronchial asthma at acute onset period were significantly lower than those of patients at remission period ( P <0.05).The levels of ECP, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-13, TNF-αwere positively correlated to those of FeNO in asthma group (P<0.05).However the levels of IL-2, IFN-γwere negatively correlated to those of FeNO in patients with bronchial asthma (P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of FeNO and inflammatory indexes in patients with bronchial asthma are obviously increased , moreover ,the levels of FeNO are positively correlated with the severity and inflammation reaction degree in patients with bronchial asthma.
