Effects of compound recipe Xiakucao combined with captopril and metformin on inflammation cytokines and vascular endothelial function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated by hypertension
Abstract：Objective To observe the effects of compound recipe Xiakucao combined with captopril and metformin on inflammation cytokines and vascular endothelial function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated by hypertension . Methods A total of 100 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated by hypertension who were admitted and treated in our hospital from June 2014 to December 2015 were randomly divided into control group and observation group , with 50 patients in each group .The patients in control group were treated by captopril combined with metformin ,however ,the patients in observation group ,on the basis of control group , were given compound recipe Xiakucao ,with a treatment course of 3 months for both groups .After treatment , the systolic pressure ( SBP ) , diastolic pressure ( DBP ) , fasting blood glucose ( FBG ) , glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), total cholesterol (TC), triacylglycerol (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), nitric oxide (NO), endothelin (ET-1), endothelium dependent vascular relaxing function ( FMD ) and non-endothelium dependent vascular relaxing function ( NMD ) and intima media thickness (IMT) were detected and compared between two groups .Results As compared with those before treatment ,the SBP,DBP, FBG,HbA1c,TG,LDL-C,ET-1,IMT were significantly decreased, however, the levels of HDL-C,NO,FMD,NMD were significantly increased after treatment in both groups ( P <0.05).Moreover the improvement degree of the parameters mentioned above in observation group was superior to that in control group ( P <0.05).However there were no significant differences in the levels of TC before and after treatment in both groups ( P >0.05).Conclusion The compound recipe Xiakucao combined with captopril and metformin can decrease the levels of blood pressure ,bood glucose,blood lipid so us to inhibit effectively inflammatory reactions and improve vascular endothelial function of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated by hypertension .
