Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Girdin and Akt 1 in colorectal carcinoma tissues, and to explore their correlation with clinicopathological features .Methods The expression levels of Girdin and Akt1protein were detected by immunohistochemistry (EnVision two-step method) in 135 cases of colorectal carcinoma tissues and 40 cases of normal colorectal tissues .Results The positive expression rates of Girdin and Akt 1 in colorectal carcinoma tissues were 38.5%and 51.1%,respectively, which were significantly higher than those (15.0%and 20.0%) in normal colorectal tissues ( P <0.05).The expression levels of Girdin and Akt1 in colorectal carcinoma tissues were not correlated to patient's age, sex, tumor size and histolgical classification ( P >0.05),however, which were closely related with the depth of infiltration and lymph node metastasis of colorectal carcinoma ( P <0.05).Moreover the expression levels of of Girdin were positively correlated to those of Akt 1 in colorectal carcinoma .Conclusion Girdin and Akt1 may be involved in the pathogenesis ,development and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma .The combination detection of Girdin with Akt 1 is helpful to evaluate the malignant degree and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma .
