Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of SHIP 2 in human non-small-cell lung carcinoma ( NSCLC ) , and to explore the correlation between its expression and prognosis of NSCLC .Methods The one-step quantitative-PCR (qPCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) assay were performed to detect the expression of SHIP 2 in NSCLC.The Kaplan-Meierstatistical method and log-rank test were used to evaluate the prognosis of 100 patients with NSCLC .Results The expression levels of SHIP2 RNA and protein in NSCLC were significantly higher than those in corresponding non -cancerous tissues ( P <0.05).The expression of SHIP2 in NSCLC was closely correlated to lymph node metastasis , TNM stage, 5-year survival rate ( P <0.05).The results by Kaplan-Meierstatistical method and log-rank test showed that the high-expression of SHIP2, smoking and advanced tumor were closely related with unfavourable prognosis of patients with NSCLC .Conclusion SHIP2 expression is correlated to malignant phenotypes of NSCLC ,which can be regarded as an important carcinogenic gene and independent prognosis factor of NSCLC .
