Abstract:Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of minocycline on macrolide resistant mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MRMP)in children over 8 years. Methods Fifty - seven patients with MRMP who were diagnosed definitely by PCR in Department of Pediatrics of our hospital were randomly divided into two groups:minocycline group( n =28)and clarithromycin group( n = 29). The relief time of clinical symptoms and therapeutic effects were observed and compared between two groups. Results The pyretolysis rate within 48 hours in minocycline group was significantly higher than that in clarithromycin group, however, the average fever days, extinction time of cough, extinction time of pulmonary rales and hospitalization time in minocycline group were significantly lower than those in clarithromycin group( P < 0. 05). After treatment the levels of TNF-α,IL-8,IL-6,IL-10 were significantly decreased in both groups,as compared with those before treatment( P < 0. 05),furthermore,the decrease degree in minocycline group was more obvious than that in clarithromycin group( P < 0. 05). After treatment, the copy number MP DNA in both groups was significantly lower than that before treatment( P < 0. 01),furthermore,the copy number MP DNA in minocycline group was significantly lower than that in clarithromycin group( P < 0. 01). Besides the total effective rate(96. 43% )in minocycline group was significantly higher than that(75. 85% )in clarithromycin group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Clarithromycin has certain therapeutic effects on MRMP,however, minocycline has more obvious therapeutic effects on MRMP in children over 8 years.
