Expression and significance of tumor metastasis suppressor gene - TIP30/CC3 gene in bladder urothelium carcinoma

Abstract：Objective To investigate the expression and significance of tumor metastasis suppressor gene - TIP30 /CC3 gene in bladder urothelium carcinoma. Methods Fifty cases of bladder urothelial carcinoma paraffin blocks and 50 cases of carcinoma adjacent tissues paraffin blocks that were stored in Department of Pathology of our hospital from 2010 to 2014 were collected in the study,with complete clinical and pathological data. The expression levels of TIP30 / CC3 gene in these specimens were detected by immunohistochemistry(SP),at the same time,the correlation between the expressions of TIP30 /CC3 gene and pathological characteristics as well as clinical features of bladder urothelial carcinoma was analyzed. Besides the expressions of TIP30 / CC3 gene were quantitatively analyzed,and the average optical density and positive area rate in positive reaction granules were measured and compared between bladder urothelial carcinoma tissues and carcinoma adjacent tissues. Results The low - expression of TIP30 / CC3 gene was observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma,however,high - expression of TIP30 / CC3 gene was observed in carcinoma adjacent tissues. The average optical density and positive area rate in carcinoma adjacent tissues were significantly higher than those in bladder urothelial carcinoma tissues,moreover,there was a significant difference between the expression of TIP30 / CC3 gene and tumor’s infiltration depth as well as clinical UICC stages( P <0. 05). However there was no significant difference between the expression of TIP30 / CC3 gene and patient’s age and sex (P > 0. 05). Conclusion As a tumor suppressor gene,the low - expression of TIP30 / CC3 gene in bladder urothelial carcinoma may promote the pathogenesis and development of bladder urothelial carcinoma,therefore,we should pay much attention to the expression of TIP30 / CC3 gene in treatment and prevention of bladder urothelial carcinoma.
