Abstract:Objective To explore the expression and clinical significance of HE4 and CD133 in epithelial ovarian cancer ( EOC) .Methods The expression levels of HE4 and CD133 protein were detected in 57 cases of EOC tissues ( EOC group) and 19 cases of normal ovarian tissues ( control group ) by immunohistochemistry. The correlation between the expressions of TH4 ,CD133 and clinicopathological parameters was analyzed. Results The positive expression rates of HE4 in control group and in EOC group were 42.1%(8/19),71.9% (41/57),respectively,and the positive expression rates of CD133 in the two groups were 31.6%(6/19),68.4%(34/57),respectively,there were significant differences between two groups ( P <0.05 ).The expressions of HE4 and CD133 were closely correlated to clinical pathological staging, histodifferentiation degree, menopausal state, lymph node metastasis ( P <0.05) .Spearman correlation analysis showed that the expression of HE4 was closely related to that of CD133 ( r =0.340, P <0.01).Conclusion The overexpression of HE4 and CD133 protein may be correlated to the pathogenesis and development of EOC.
