Expression and significance of macrophage migration inhibition factor, vascular endtohelial growt hfactor and its receptor in tis sue and serum of patients with endometriosis

Abstract：Objective To observe the expression of macrophage migration inhibition factor ( MIF ) , vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF ) and its receptor ( VEGFR2 ) in tissue and serum of patients with endometriosis, and to explore the correlation between the expressions of these factors and progression of disease.Methods A total of 45 patients with endometriosis were enrolled as observation group, and the other 30 healthy women were served as control group.The expression levels of MIF, VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 and MVD value in tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry for both groups.The expression levels of MIF, VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 protein in serum were detected by ELISA for both groups.Results The positive expression rates of MIF, VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 and MVD value in tissues in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group ( P <0.05 ) , moreover, the expression levels of MIF, VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 were positively correlated to MVD value ( P <0.05) . The expression levels of MIF, VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 in serum in observation group were significantly higher than those of control group ( P <0.05).Furthermore the expression levels of MIF, VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 in tissue and serum in observation group were positively correlated to clinical staging of R-AFS ( P <0.05).Conclusion The high-expressions of MIF,VEGF,VEGFR1,VEGFR2 are observed in tissue and serum of patients with endometriosis,moreover,which are gradually increased with clinical staging of R-AFS, which may play an important role in pathogenesis and development of endometriosis by promoting angiogenesis .
