Expression and correlation between E-cadherin and MMP-2 in non-sm la l cell lung canec r
Abstract:[Abstratc] Objective To investigate the expression of E-cadherin and MMP-2 in NSCLC, and to explore their relationship with the disease’ s clinicopathological characteristics. Methods The expression levels of E-cadherin and MMP-2 proteins were detected by immunohistochemistry ( SP) in 138 cases of NSCLC and 78 cases of cancer adjacent normal tissues. Results The positive expression rate of E-cadherin in NSCLC was 28.99% (40/138),and the positive expression rate of MMP-2 in NSCLC was 59.42% (82/138).The expression levels of E-cadherin and MMP-2 were closely correlated to differentiation degree of tumor,TNM staging, lymph node metastasis and patient’s survival time after operation ( P <0.05). Moreover the expression of E-cadherin was negatively related with that of MMP-2 in lung carcinoma ( P <0.05) .Conclusion The low-expression of E-cadherin and high-expression of MMP-2 may be important biological markers in the invasion and metastasis of NSCLC.
