Expression and biological significance of DMBT1,CD44v6 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of DMBT1,CD44v6 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and to explore the correlation between their expressions and the biological behavior of tumors. Methods The expression levels of DMBT1 and CD44v6 were detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in 70 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and 23 cases of incisal margin normal tissues. Results The expression levels of DMBT1 and CD44v6 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma were decreased or negative. The expression levels of DMBT1 were related with histological differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma ( P <0.05 ), however, which were not associated with infiltration depth of tumor tissues ( P >0.05).The expression levels of CD44v6 were correlated to lymph node metastasis ( P<0.05),however,which were not related with histological differentiation degree and infiltration depth of tumor tissues ( P >0.05).Conclusion The decrease of DMBT1expression may be the biological markers of poor differentiation and higher malignancy degree of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissue, moreover, which is closely correlated to lymph node metastasis of tumor. The expression levels of CD44v6 are related with the pathogenesis and lymph node metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
