Effect of carbachol combined with dietary fiber on the levels of plasma endotoix n and D-lactic acid in rats with scald
Abstract:Objective To investigate initially the effect of carbachol combined with dietary fiber on the intestinal barrier in rats with scald. Methods The animal models were established in Wistar rats by 30% TBSA Ⅲ °scald, and the model rats were randomly divided into four groups:physiological saline group ( Group A) ,dietary fiber treatment group ( Group B) ,carbachol treatment group ( Group C) ,carbachol plus dietary fiber treatment group ( Group D) .Meanwhile normal control group was set up.These rats were sacrificed at 6,12,24,48 and 72 hours after scald. The pathological changes in small intestine were observed under light microscope, and portal vein blood specimens were taken to detect the levels of plasma endotoxin, and abdominal aorta blood specimens were taken to detect the contents of plasma D-lactic acid. Results The injury degree in small intestine, the plasma levels of endotoxin and D-lactic acid in scald groups were significantly higher than those in normal control group ( P <0.05) ,which peaked at 12~24h after scald, moreover, which could not recover to normal levels until 72 hours after the injury. The combined application of carbachol with dietary fiber could obviously decrease the plasma levels of endotoxin and D-lactic acid ( P <0.05).Conclusion Early combined application of carbachol with dietary fiber has obvious protective effects on intestinal barrier in rats with scald, which is superior to simple application of carbachol or dietary fiber.
