Expression and clinical significance of DKK-1 andβ-catenin in proximal gastric cancer
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of dickkopf-1( DKK-1) andβ-catenin in proximal gastric cancer. Methods The expression of DKK-1 and β-catenin in proximal gastric cancer was detected by immunohistochemistry ( SP ) in 61 cases of proximal gastric cancer, and the detection results combined with clinical pathological characteristics of proximal gastric cancer were statistically analyzed. Results The positive expression rate of DKK-1 and the abnormal expression rate ofβ-catenin in proximal gastric cancer tissue were 34.4%(21/61)and 68.9%(42/61),respectively.The expression of DKK-1 was closely correlated to the degree of tumor differentiation, clinical staging and lymph node metastasis ( P <0.05 ) .The expression of β-catenin was significantly associated with the degree of tumor differentiation( P <0.05).The expression of DKK-1 was closely correlated with that of β-catenin in proximal gastric cancer ( P <0.05) .Conclusion The overexpression of DKK-1 may play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of proximal gastric cancer, which can indicate prognosis and metastasis of tumor. The relation between DKK-1 andβ-catenin may be regulation each other and negative feedback regulation.
