Study on the property of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride disinfectant
Abstract：Objective To investigate the sterilizing effect and related performance of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride disinfectant .Methods The germicidal efficacy and stability of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride disinfectant were detected by suspensions quantitative germicidal test and on the spot simulation test .Results The average killing logarithm value for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus exposed to the solution containing 43.8mg/L polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride for 2.5 minutes was >5 and the average killing logarithm value for material surface nature bacteria was 1.0.The metal corrosion test showed that the disinfectant had no basically corrosive effect on stainless steel,aluminum,copper and carbon steel .The decrease rate of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride was 0.44%at 37℃for three months.Conclusion The polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride disinfectant has good germicidal efficacy ,with good stability and lower causticity .
