Abstract:Objcetive To observe the expression levels of pigment epithelium -derived factor (PEDF ) and transforming growth factor (TGF-β1) in patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN),and to investigate the role of PEDF and TGF-β1 in the pathogenesis and development of diabetic nephropathy so as to provide more susceptive clinical detection index for early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy .Mtehods One hundred and twenty patients with DN were divided into type 2 diabetes group,DNⅢstage group,DN Ⅳ stage group,DN Ⅴ stage group, with 30 patients in each group, and the other 30 healthy subjects were enrolled as control group .The serum levels of PEDF and TGF-β1,FPG,FPG,TG,TC,sCr,BUN,24h urine volume,24h urinary albumin, urine creatinine were detected by ELISA ,and UAER was calculated .Results The serum levels of PEDF and TGF-β1 in control group, type 2 diabetes group,DNⅢstage group,DNⅣstage group,DNⅤstage group were increased in turn, moreover, there were significant differences among groups ( P <0.05).Conclusio n The serum levels of PEDF and TGF-β1 are obviously increased in patients with DN in early stage ,moreover ,which increase with the progress of pathogenetic condition .The combined detection of PEDF and TGF-β1 provides more susceptive ,accurate, reliable indexes for early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy .
