Expression and clinical significance of CXCR4, HPA and MMP-2 in esophageal squamous cell cancer
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of CXCR 4, HPA and MMP-2 in esophageal squamous cell cancer ( ESCC ) .Methods One hundred and twenty specimens of ESCC and 10 specimens of adjacent ESCC normal tissue were stained by immunohistochemisty ,then the expression levels of CXCR4,HPA,MMP-2 were detected, and the correlation among the three factors was analyzed .Results The positive expression rates of CXCR 4,HPA, MMP-2 in ESCC tissues were 74.17%,58.33%,67.50%,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in adjacent ESCC normal tissues ( P <0.05).The expression levels of CXCR4,HPA,MMP-2 were correlated to the infiltration depth , size, lymph node metastasis,TNM staging of ESCC ( P <0.05).The expression of CXCR4 was positively related with that of HPA/MMP-2 ( r =0.267/r =0.206, P <0.05),however,the expression of HPA was not correlated to that of MMP-2 ( P>0.05).Conclusion CXCR4 plays an important role during the progress of ESCC ,which may increase activity of HPA/MMP-2 through certain mechanisms ,as a result ,which may promote the invasion and metastasis of ESCC .
