Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of Notch 1 and c-myc in human triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC),and to explore its clinical significance .Methods The expression levels of Notch1 and c-myc were detected by immunohistochemistry ( SP ) in 63 cases of TNBC and 30 cases of cancer adjacent normal breast tissues .Results The expression of Notch1 and c-myc in human breast cancer was located in nucleus and cytoplasm .The positive expression rates of Notch1 and c-myc were 71.43%(45/63),69.84%(44/63),respectively in TNBC tissues, which were significantly higher than those in adjacent normal breast tissues ( P <0.05).Among 63 cases of TNBC,the positive expression rates of Notch1 and c-myc at histological grade Ⅲ were significantly higher than those at grade Ⅰ~Ⅱ( P <0.05).In addition, the positive expression rates of Notch1 and c-myc in stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ were significantly higher than those in stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ( P <0.05). Furthermore, the expression levels of Notch1 and c-myc were positively correlated to lymph node metastasis ( P <0.05). Conclusion Notch1 and c-myc are highly expressed in TNBC ,which is closely correlated with the occurrence ,development and metastasis of TNBC .
