Expressio n and significance of survivin and caspase-3 in breast cancer cells
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of survivin and caspase -3 in breast cancer cells, and to explore its correlation with apoptosis and proliferation of breast cancer .Methods Immunohistochemical method (PV) was used to detect the expressions of survivin,caspase-3 and PCNA in 300 cases of breast cancer,132 cases of breast adenoma and 103 cases of breast normal tissue.TUNEL reagent box was used to examine apoptosis cell .Results There were significant differences in the OD value of surviving,caspase-3 expression, proliferation index (PI) and apoptosis index (AI) between breast cancer tissues and breast adenoma ,breast normal tissue ( P <0.05).The lower pathological classification and the higher surgery staging of breast cancer were ,the higher OD value of surviving expression and AI ,however, the lower OD value of caspase-3 expression and AI ( P <0.05).The expression of surviving was negatively correlated to AI of breast cancer cells ( r =-0.707, P <0.05),however,which was positively correlated to PI ( r =0.302, P <0.05).The expression of caspase-3 was negatively correlated to PI of breast cancer cells ( r =-0.028, P <0.05),however,which was positively correlated to AI ( r =0.319, P <0.05).The expression of surviving was negatively related with that of caspase -3 ( P <0.05).Conclusion The cell apoptosis and disorder of cell proliferation mechanism exist generally in the pathogenesis and development of breast cancer .The abnormal expressions of survivin and caspase -3 may play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of breast cancer .
